Rain Barrels

HOW IT WORKS

A rain barrel is a container that captures and stores stormwater runoff from downspouts connected to rooftops for reuse. Rain barrels consist of the container usually 60 gallons in size, a diverter to connect with a downspout, a spigot to connect to a garden hose and a spigot for overflow. They are placed at the corner of a building where overflow is allowed into a surrounding green space. A 1/2 inch of rain off an average roof will fill a rain barrel.
